Apollo 11 photograph of astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin taking a lunar soil sample. In the background is the apparatus used for the Solar Wind Experiment, which comprises a sheet of silvery foil which traps particles in the air. Apollo 11 was the first manned lunar landing mission, launched on 16 July, 1969. It landed on the moon on July 20.
