Mail-in small electronics recycling, USA

Modern electronic equipment uses many materials and substances that are hazardous to the environment. US Postal Service runs the Free Recycling Through the Mail program offering free pre-paid envelopes (shown here) to mail back small electronics (cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, inkjet cartridges, etc). Such electronic waste is then recycled or reused thus diverting hazardous materials from entering the landfills. Photo March 2008.
