Seiffen is famous for its woodcraft industry. Artisans in the small town tucked in the Erzgebirge region of hills in southeastern Germany near the Czech border are famous for making wooden Christmas ornaments such as nutcrackers and wooden choirs. The Seiffen church with its distinctive shape has served as a model for the famous design of little wooden church produced by many artisans in Seiffen and neighboring villages.
