He then went to New York city in the spring of 1879and while in the eastern metropolis attended the Bellevue HospitalMedical College. In 1880 he returned to Canada and entered theemploy of the Xorthern Railroad of Canada, continuing with thatcorporation until the spring of 1881, when, at Chicago, he became con-nected with the Cliicago & Alton Railroad Company, I
