The name block is tipped at just the right angle so that dashing rains cannot cover the name with dirt and can easily be read from a standing position. The hook at bottom prevents pulling out or turning in row. The galvanized iron rod will last indefinitely and name block cannot rot or break as with wooden stakes, therefore the first cost is the only expense, as they will last many years without replacement . Blocks or name plates can be readily removed at digging time so that they may be kept in the box or crate as a marker until next planting time.
