The Venetian Column in the center of Nicosia. The granite column stands in the center of Atatürk Square. In 1489, the column was brought to Nicosia from Salamis by the ruling Venetians and decorated with a stone lion. The Ottomans toppled the column. During the British colonial period, the column would be rebuilt and provided with a bronze sphere on the top. Lefkoşa Türk Belediyesi, Cyprus
