Baroque Det Kongelige Palae (Royal Mansion) built as a royal residence for king Christian VI of Denmark from 1733 to 1736 by Lauridts de Thurah, now bishop of Roskilde residence and Museet for Samtidskunst (Museum of Contemporary Art); Gothic Roskilde Domkirke (Roskilde Cathedral) built from 1170 to 1280 by Archbishop Absalon, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Roskilde, Denmark. August 9th 2013. It was the first gothic church in Scandinavia to be built of brick and influenced Brick Gothic architecture to the North Europe.
