Ten-spot ladybird


10-spot ladybird (Adalia decempunctata). This small carnivorous ladybird grows up to 5mm and is highly variable in colour and number of spots. The species includes eight varietas, with three basic forms. It is found throughout European broad leaved woodlands as well as parks and gardens. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in May.
