Human brain. Work of art by Canadian artist Verle Harrop of nine human brain images superimposed on old maps of the world. It is titled: \Remote Sensing: Mapping - cortex vs context\" (1993). The collage shows a top view of nine scans of the human brain showing surface convolutions of the cerebrum. These scans appear on maps of states of the USA, the Baltic States, Czechoslovakia, and British Columbia. The artist uses multimedia to create vivid images that juxtapose the human brain with aspects of technology and remote sensing. Verle Harrop specialises in neurological imaging and is artist-in-residence at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada."
