As the great object is reform,the intercourse of all with the boys should be so conductedas to convince them that this object is the chief end and aimof the school. Every boy shall, at all times, be in charge of some respon-sible person, unless otherwise directed; any boy escaping byor through the neglect or carelessness of anv officer, thewhole or part of the expense incurred in his capture may becharged to such officer and deducted from his salary by or-der of the Trustees,. CONNECTICUT SCHOOL FOR BOYS. 67 No person shall take or detain a boy from the perform-ance of one duty to discharge another, without directionfrom the Superintendent; and no boy shall be kept or al-lowed to remain out of School without special permissionfrom the Superintendent. Any person having charge of the boys during their timeof recreation, shall see that a kind and proper tone of feelingis observed among them, and that they do not use violenceor injure each others clothing, mar or deface the buildings,fixtures or furniture. All persons employed at the Institution, who are in healthand can leave their appropriate at the time, shall at-tend the daily devotional exercises, and the religious serviceson Sunday, unless special leave of absence is granted. No spirituous liquorsor intoxicating drinks shall be broughtto the Institution, unless by order of the physician. Noofficer or assistant shall at any time make use of such liquor
