The sacond match of the Bve principal events of the Coun- try Clnb for the season took place at the Oakland Track on last Saturday afternoon. The grounds were in excellent condition, the grass having been nicely cut, presenting a fair field for trie sport. A raw wind was blowing from the ocean, through Golden Gate and across the bay, which rendered the long periods elapsing between each individual's turn at the score rather unpleasant. The birds were better than the average lot. The "drivers" and right quarterers, being favored with, the wind, made off rapidly. 1 Promptly at 2:10 p. M. Mr. D. B. Gillette, Jr., took his position at the trap. "Full" and aright quarter "driver" sprang from trap 5 and enrvirjg in flight; a shot at long range turned it to a partial incomer, and it ftll to a neatly 9xecuted second fire. Numbers two, four, seven, ten, eleven and twelve fell at fint 6re near traps, second barrel used for safety on the second bird. Hie third bird from trap 5 was a jwift right qaarterer; a slow first shot dropped a few feath- ers, and a quickly used second dropped the bird just inside 3oands. Five, six and eight all right quartering got away, She first severely punished. Ninth, trap 2, undershot with irst, killed witb second barrel at long raDge. Mr. F. L. Wooster killed his first, second, fourth, seventh, linth. tenth, eleventh and twelfth near traps, using second )arrel on tirst, second and tenth for safety. His third, ifth, sixth and eighth birds managed to get away, one aeverely punished and two dead out of bounds. â Mr. W. B. Tobbs killed seven of his birds at the traps ,vith first barrel.
