A curfew is imposed in Srinagar and in the rest of the Kashmir Valley as India celebrates its Independence Day to commemorate its independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947. Few people are in the streets of Srinagar, where Indian military forces are deployed to enforce the restrictions. The curfew was imposed on the eve of India Independence Day, and Mobile internet services were also barred in the Valley
