Young Kudu male in tall grass, Kruger National Park, South Africa. Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) Shoulder height: males 1,4 m, females 1,25 m; mass: males 170 - 270 kg, females 110 - 210 kg. The kudu is a savanna woodland species. It is partial to areas of broken, rocky terrain where there is woodland cover and open of males is fawn grey, females tinged cinnamon. Only the males have the sork-screw shaped, spiral horns. Kudus are browsers.
