During 1894-98 he gave in-structions as professor of chemistry inthe Agricultural College, Logan. , 1898, he was ordained to the officeof a Seventy and set apart to do mis-sionary work in connection with hisstudies in Euro{)e. He entered theUniversity of Gijettingen, Germany, andafter applying himself diligently to hisstudies he graduated from that institu-tion, with the degrees of A. M. Ph. 1899. Elder Widtsoe also made trijisto Denmark, Norway, Switzerland andFrHnce in the inteiests of his studies. while abioarl. un his return to Utah,in 1900, he was made director of theexperiment station of the State Agricul-tural College, Logan. His specialbranch of study is chemistry, and hehas already earned a splendid recordin that field. A number of his experi-ments and researches have attractedthe attention of many scientific men atsome of the leading institutions oflearning. HARRISON, Edwin Daniel. a High Councilor in the Pocatello Stakeof Zion, is the son of James H. Har-rison and Angeline Parry,and was bornin London, ICngland, Jan. 21, 1860. Hewas baptized Aug. 7, 1873, by his fatherJas. H. Harrison, and confirmed byJohn Squires. He was ordained a Dea-con in 1874, ordained an Elder July 8,1880; ordained a Seventy Jan. 6, A. M.
