Marine Corps Cpl. Stephen D. Granata hails from Punta Gorda, Florida. Granata is currently serving as a satellite communications operator and a transmission systems operator with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response – Central Command in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Granata assisted in the coordination of all movement of communications gear to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also assisted in the floor plans for the tents that the Marine work and sleep in. “On the satellite communications level we’ve had to relocate our terminals three different times just in the short time we’ve been here. We’ve completely revised the way that the operations have been taken over from the last SPMAGTF,” explains Granata on some of the challenges he’s faced. In his spare time, Granata enjoys playing his banjo and reaching back to his family in the United States. Upon his return home, he hopes to visit his sisters, Tony and Jessi, in Punta Gorda and spend time with friends.
