A helmet of the Savoy horseguard militia, circa 1850 Skull of black lacquered brass sheet. Gilt embossed comb, the front embellished with a large, elaborate lion head relief. Silver plated emblem with the large coat of arms of Savoy, one-piece embossed chinscales on smooth rosettes, left with original leather cockade, green underlined visors. Well preserved lining of tender brown leather (with loops). Signs of wear and age.
