HGPRTase. Molecular model of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HGPRTase) bound to a molecule of guanosine monophosphate (GMP). HGPRTase

HGPRTase. Molecular model of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HGPRTase) bound to a molecule of guanosine monophosphate (GMP). HGPRTase is involved in the purine salvage pathway. This pathway recovers purine bases during the degradation of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) so that they can be converted to nucleotides and used to build new DNA and RNA molecules.
