A percussion target rifle from the armoury of King Otto I, Rieger in Munich, circa 1830/40. Octagonal barrel, slightly constricted in the middle with a seven-groove rifled bore in 10 mm calibre, and the signature "Rieger in München" inlaid on the top in silver. The rear of the barrel ornamented with silver-inlaid meander bands. The snail and tang finely engraved with decorative vines. The cipher "O" under a crown cut into a cartouche beneath a rampant Bavarian lion.
