Western Herman’s Tortoise (Testudo hermanni hermanni). Ventral, or underside view of a close up of the head showing the yellow cheek patch below the eye, between and alongside the ear or tympanum. Four claws on each front foot, and the beginnings of the dark plastron stripes continuous either side of the central seam. Significant features helping identification for most specimens of this the nominate and rarer form or sub-species.
