The ones on either side arehinged to that of the middle, and are easily raised, lowered,and locked at any angle by the self-locking ratchets on each endof the table. The Stuttgart table, Figure 297, consists of an ordinarywooden table witb metal top to wHich is attached by suitable fast-enings the four metal legs of the Stuttgart apparatus. These legssupport the two leaves (a) (a) of the hollow metal top. By aspecial arrangement the top can be lowered either at sides or inthe center, which makes it in many particulars an adjustabletable.
