Overturned railway truck in Meliden Station yard, Dyserth, Denbighshire, Wales. (possibly removed by Denbighshire Countryside services in August 2003. Beside the Prestatyn - Dyserth Way, mile recreational footpath along route of a disused railway. Part of 60 mile North Wales Coast Path which follows the coast and lower mountain slopes between Prestatyn and Bangor. Originally the Dyserth branch of the Chester and Holyhead Railway opened in 1869 to carry mineral traffic: lead ore from mines and limestone from quarries around Dyserth and Meliden. Briefly used for passengers 1905 -1930, but not as convenient as bus services. Closed as a railway in 1973. 10 june 2003
