BORN DECEMBER 19. 1894DIED OCTOBER 16, 1918 Lieutenant Dushek was born in Melnik,Wis., on December I 9, I 894. He receivedhis early education in the public schoolsof Chicago, graduating from Crane Highand then entering the University of Chi-cago. At the outbreak of war he left theuniversity to enter the First OfficersTraining Camp at Fort Sheridan, where hewas assigned to the Third Company. Aftera months study he was transferred to theAir Service and ordered to the trainingschool at Champaign, 111., where he waspromoted to a sergeantcy and later ■won asecond lieutenancy. In October, 1917,Lieutenant Dushek went overseas, landingin Italy, where he was stationed at CampFoggio for four months, later going toFrance and being attached to the Eighth,Second and Third Instruction Centers, re-spectively. At the last-named place hewas promoted to a first lieutenancy. OnOctober 16, 1918, while instructing atIssodoun, he was instantly killed when hismachine crashed. Lieutenant Dushek wasunmarrie
