The superheater header is formed bytwo chambers. The first one (25) iscalled the saturated steam passage andthe second (26) is the superheated steampassage. The saturated steam passage re-ceives the steam direct from the dry pipeand the boiler, and the superheated steampassage delivers the superheated steam tothe steam pipes (27) leading to the cyl-inders. The connection between thesetwo passages is made by means of thesuperheater units (28). Each of theseunits is formed by four lengths of pipeand three forged return bends. These arctwo tube return bends 1-1smokebox return bend (30). A singlepipe is attached by a special fastening, not in detail in the engraving, tothe saturated steam passage of the super-heater I to one eration. These are swaged down to asmaller diameter at the back end andfastened to the back tubesheet
