Lingyue Temple is located in Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District, Beijing. The ancient temple sits north facing south and was built during the Tang Zhenguan reign (627 - 649). It has a history of more than a thousand years. During the Liao，Jin and Yuan dynasties, the temple was continuously rebuilt and repaired. In the Liao Dynasty, it was called Baitieshanyuan and in the Jin Dynasty it was named Lingyue Temple.
