The khim is a Thai dulcimer. It is made of wood with numerous brass strings. It is played with two flexible bamboo sticks and is used as both a solo and ensemble instrument. Khim was introduced to Thailand from China, where a similar instrument is called yangqin, but khim produces a significantly softer sound.
