Six giants support a bowl shaped vessel as a screen of water spills down around them surrounded by twenty iconic tree groups.
The large bowl shaped vessel is supported by six giants who are screened by water which flows around them. The combination of human beings and trees in the twenty, two meter high sculptures in the fountain area is one of Vigeland's most original concepts. The tree groups represent a romantic expression of Man's relationship to nature. They also form the setting for life's evolving stages, stretching from childhood and adolescence through adulthood to old age and death.
