Farmer Skkd Company, Faribault, Minnesota. CHEAP GRASS AND CLOVER GRASS MIXTURES. A seed firm not very far from us has, for several years, copied our methods and offered our carefully selected Olover- Q-rass Mixtures as "cheap" Mixtures in their own catalog-ue, almost exactly copying our descriptions, and for no other purpose, apparently, than to create prejudice against their use, and offered them at very low prices. They also recommend their own Grass Mixtures at very hig-h and unreasonable prices, and the selection of them shows that they know but very little about the varieties they recommend or use. To illustrate this, we mentioQ here that they recommend and use Wliito Clover for meadown, for meadow wet soil, while every farmer knows for what g-round White Clover is best adapted and that it will hardly grow tall enough to clip the heads off with a mower, let alone making a sward. A. Cook, from the 6th District of Wisconsin, introduced a bill in Congress prohibiting the further buying up of such worthless stuff in Europe and bringing it to this country- As soon as this became known, nearly all the seed dealers of this country worked hard against it, and the firm copying our Clover- Grass Mixtures and offering them as "cheap" Grass Mixtures, issued a call to Seedsmen in the trade papers to help kill this bill and they
