A visiting motorist circuit sign through farmland of the Thiérache region consisting some 60 plus historical fortified churches in the Ardennes in northern France. Thierache was invaded many times during its history. The surrounding villages had its own fortified church where its inhabitants took refuge as protection from plunderers and invading armies during the 16th/ 17th centuries.
