清 汪廷儒 山水 扇頁, Landscape, Qing dynasty (1644–1911), 19th century, China, Folding fan mounted as an album leaf; ink and color on gold-flecked paper, 6 1/8 x 20 5/8 in. ( x cm), Paintings, Wang Tingru (Chinese, 1804–1852), Wang was a full-fledged scholar in the Hanlin Academy in Peking. His painting style, while influenced by the intellectual rigor of Dong Qichang (1555–1636), took on the appealing attributes of mid-19th century style, evident here in the gold-flecked ground, soft color and free brushwork
