Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of a heart with an aneurysm of the right coronary artery (green bulge at centre left). An aneurysm is a blood-filled dilation in a blood vessel wall. If left untreated, the blood vessel can rupture. Coronary artery aneurysms are rare. They are most often caused by atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
