RHINOCEROS REPRODUCTION

Illustration of the use of stem cell in the reproduction of a species. The egg and sperm of a rhinoceros with a wavy horn (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) are created from stem cells from fibroblasts taken from the dermis. After fertilisation of both sexual cells, the egg is implanted in a female with a straight horn (Ceratotherium simum simum). The baby will have the genetic characteristics of the rhinoceros with the wavy horn.
