The walls of Chennakesava Temple at Belur in Karnataka state, India, built by a Hoysala king beginning in 1117 AD, are carved with sculpture.


The Chennakeshava Temple, originally called Vijayanarayana Temple, was built on the banks of the Yagachi River in Belur, by the Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana, who commissioned it in 1117 AD.
