The highest mountain in Sweden,Sulitelma (6315 Swedish feet above the level of the sea), lies in Lapland, and is theonly alpine elevation in Sweden where, as far as is known, glaciers are found, butthere are other mountains in these districts, and still further south along the frontierof the kingdom, in Jemtland and Herjedalen, with an elevation of from 4000 to 5000feet, whose peaks are dotted with patches of snow the whole year round.
