Chinese sleeping mat, anonymous, c. 1700 - c. 1750 Rectangular ivory mat in which an edge is braided. Within this edge five squares: a central and four around it. The entire braid is braided in the mat asymetrically. Road side of the mat is a silk lining with leaf and floral motifs. The color was originally pink. The lining consists of three lanes (of different width) in the length direction of the mat. The lining is strongly faded on one of the short sides and apart from the braid. On this side, four eyes are sewn on the mat. A black satin tire is sewn around the entire outer edge of the mat
