A sabre for officers,of the hussars,South German,mid-18th century. Curved blade à la Montmorency,inscribed "GF" on both sides above a depiction of a hussar and trophies of war. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with long crosspiece,the grip cap shaped as a lion's head. Leather scabbard with brass fittings,reinforcement straps supplemented(?). Blade slightly spotted. Length 99 cm.
