Arthur W. Delamont, Conductor'. The Kitsilano Boys' Band was founded in Vancouver, Canada in 1928 by Arthur W. Delamont. In 1936 the band toured Ireland, Scotland and England, and competed against 35 of Britain's top colliery bands, all composed of adult musicians, at the Crystal Palace in London. The boys won first place, and were awarded the Cassell's Challenge Shield for junior bands.
