The village of Bang Rachan in Sing Buri province, is located in the north of Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam. It is remembered in Thai popular culture and folklore for its resistance against the Burmese invaders in the Burmese-Siamese War (1765–1767), and is famous for its brave heroes who fended off the Burmese army against huge odds.
