Its soleobject, as stated in its constitution, is the spread of Christs Kingdom among men, espe-cially young men. I he Brotherhood began with twelve young men, under the leadership of L. Houghteling, in St. James Church, Chicago, on St. Andrews Day, the present time there are 1,351 chapters with a membership of about 18,000 men. The college department now consists of about thirty chapters.

The college department now consists of about thirty chapters. There are threeinstitutions west of the Mississippi which have charters, Colorado College being one ofthem. There are strong chapters in Harvard, Dartmouth, Massachusetts Institute of Tech-nology, Cornell, Columbia and Chicago University. The local chapter was formed inthe fall of 1 904, with a charter membership of eight. Since then it has grown in num-bers and influence, striving, in its own way, to be helpful to all students. 142.
