Filled parfleches are often used to push out the inside liner. Mrs. Nora Spanish, manager of the Blackfeet Arts and Crafts Association, revealed that: The North Blackfeet from Gleichen, Alberta, have discovered a new idea to peg the lining similar to the way the tipi cover is pegged to the ground, and loops are now being sewn on the tipi liner for that purpose. A woman from Gleichen told me this in 1955, but claimed that it is much harder to peg the inside liner than.
