Washington, DC - A portion of a 1200-foot-long terra cotta frieze on the exterior of the National Building Museum. The art, by Caspar Buberl, commemorates Civil War soldiers who fought for the Union. The building was constructed in the 1880s to house the government's Pension Bureau, which paid pensions to Civil War veterans.
