Ms. Mindy Simonson, Scientific Recovery Expert and Marine Cpt. Jon Tamanah, team leader assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) screen dirt at Ulingan, Bogia District, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea on Sep. 29, 2022. The investigation team visited multiple areas across the coastal Madang Province in hopes of recovering missing service members lost during World War II. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for personnel to their families and the nation.
