New Hybrid Perpetual Rose, Mme. Albert Barbier New Hybrid-Perpetual Rose Mme. Albert Barbier (Barbier Bros. 1925) A noteworthy novelty which we offered in a limited way for the first time last season, and from which we have had most gratifying reports of results obtained during the past summer. It has been some years since we had the pleasure of offering a new Rose in this class, in fact, the hybridizers of the Rose world seem to have devoted their studies and energies entirely to other types, particularly to Hybrid-Tea and Pernetiana hybrids and when the originators sent us this variety for trial, we did not realize what a pleasant surprise was in store for us. The seed parent of this beautiful Rose is the inter- national favorite, Frau Karl Druschki, and possessing similar vigor and sturdiness, but of dwarfer more com- pact habit, naturally forming a shapely bush of free flowering qualities, in this respect surpassing all other Hybrid-Perpetual Roses, yes, equaling, and even sur- passing many of the popidar Hybrid-Tea varieties in profuse blooming habit. The large flowers are of beautiful imbricated form with long perfect buds developing into well-formed, full, double flowers of a pearly white suffused with a soft flesh pink, intensified and illuminated by the golden apricot centre and base of the petals.
