Trees with citrus greening disease in an orchard. Citrus plants infected with the Candidatus liberobacter bacteria. This bacteria causes citrus greening disease, also known as huanglongbing (HLB) or yellow dragon disease. Symptoms include blotchy mottled leaves, and leaf yellowing. The disease greatly reduces fruit production, destroys the value of the fruit, and can kill trees. Once infected there is no cure. The bacteria is transmitted by the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri).
