Ofcourse therewere trees andgrass and otherflowers besidesbut it was theBees country, and they hadmore roses than any otherflowers. The Humming-birds country was near by,and they came in on visitsto the bees. It was a beautiful, beau-tiful place, and as Joseywalked along through the. LAND FULL OF ROSESAND SUNSHINE. flowers, she pulled roses and violets, and madethem into wreaths for herself and the chip-munk. She went on and on and on till she heard agreat humming. It sounded something likesinging and something like a mill and somethinglike water falling, and it turned out to be thevoices of all the bees that were working in thegreat hive. It was on a high green grassy bank, underthe shade of tall elm-trees. Millions and mil-lions of bees were there, working away for dearlife, while the queen sat above, watching them. The queen had wings like rainbows, and acrown that was all one jewel, and a scepterthe rod of which was clear as crystal, while thetip was just like fire. Her servants were fanning her with hum-ming-birds feathers. THE WORRIES OF THE QUEEN BEE. In spite of all the fine things about her, thequeen did not look happy. She seemed wor-ried about something. When she caught sight of Josey she smiledvery pleasantly. You sweet child! she said. Have youcome to
