Sulawesi macaque hair (Macaca nigra), coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). This primate is found in Indonesia on the Sulawesi island of Bacan and also on the shores of the Philippines. It is also known as the crested black macaque or the Celebes ape. It is listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Magnification x2000 at 10cm wide.
