Cape Gannet (Morus capensis) skypointing, a sign of appeasement in the crowded breeding colony on Bird Island, Lamberts Bay, West Coast, South Africa. They are globally endangered due to decreasing population caused by dimishing fish stocks due to over exploitation and harvesting of their guano deposits for fertiliser - the birds use the guano for nesting. The fledglings and eggs are also predated by the Cape Fur Seal and gulls.
