The children are en-couraged to read outsideof school. Books, papersand magazines are provid-ed for their use. Quite abroad course of supple-mentary reading is j)lannedfor each grade, and special])eri()ds are set aside inwhich the teacher reads tothe children stories andpoems which are profital)lcand interesting.
