Schnell came to San Diego when he was only ten years of age and,after completing his education in the local public and high schools, began atonce to study dairying, determining to master completely the sanitary andscientific aspects of the occupation. In order to facilitate his work he purchaseda large tract of land in the Tia Juana valley and installed the necessary modernequipment and became one of the pioneer dairymen in this section of the a great expense he established upon his farm an irrigating plant, the first ofits kind in the Tia Juana valley installed for farm purposes, which benefited not.
