34046 ‘Braunton’ is a Southern Railway West Country class 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive. It was built at Brighton Works in November 1946 and was withdrawn from service in October 1965. The locomotive was preserved and eventually returned to the main line hauling excursion trains, having returned to steam in July 2007, 42 years after withdrawal from service
