Berry's bobtail squid burying itself. Image 2 of 3 showing Berry's bobtail squid (Euprymna berryi) burying itself in the sand. This small squid uses two arms to sweep sand over its body after burying itself. Both squids and cuttlefish use small sacs of pigment in their skin to to change their colouring and markings. Due to its small size, these sacs are very obvious in the bobtail squid. See images Z505/163-65 for a sequence of this squid burying itself. Photographed in Pasir Puith, Manokwari, West Papua in Indonesia, Asia.
